Wednesday's what's at the grocery store?!?

We have been having a lot of laughs at the grocery store navigating new foods. It has been fun finding favorites from home tucked into the shelves amongst the strange and often yummy new foods!

Over the first couple weeks we have not been that adventurous with our food purchases. Our favourite food purchase so far has been the watermelon and our least favourite was the sausage ( ICK!!!)

So here we are... welcome to what's at the grocery store Wednesday... Where we share the funny, yummy, yucky, and familiar food.

Chips here are very strange. You can usually find original chips but from there it gets crazy! This was a new flavour we hadn't yet come across. Ruffles super crunchy spicy crab chips ( sorry no I didn't buy them)

This is Apple pop and it is yummy! It brings back special memories from our first visit to Taiwan so I allowed Cupcake to buy it to have a taste. It is oh so fuzzy and tastes like a Carmel Apple sucker.

Pickled slices lettuce. When I stumbled across this i had a good giggle. This was as strange to me as pickling an egg. I am a girl that loves pickles but sliced lettuce??? Sorry to say I did not buy it!

I'm off to find more fun items to share with you!

Trivia Tuesday

Todays trivia question

How many stairs do I walk to do laundry in one week?

In Canada I never thought twice about stairs. I did them at work instead of taking the elevator because that was good for me, I did them at home to play with my pumpkins, I did them when I was visiting peoples house, but I couldn't once tell you how many stairs I did in a day... it just wasn't part of my day.

Here stairs are a part of our every day. I walk up 14 stairs just to go to the bathroom. We are constantly travelling up and down stairs within the house.  The houses in our neighbourhood here are tall and skinny... with lots of stairs.

but enough babbling on to the answer: I do on average 1024 stairs in a week to do laundry

However when you have a view like this to do your laundry you can't complain too much!

Spirit lead me.....

There is a popular Hillsongs song called Oceans  ( Where Feet May Fail). The chorus goes:

" Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
wherever you may call me
take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
in the presence of my Saviour"

That is our life right now that we would go wherever He would call us.
Our heart is being led to a foreign land.
This is a land where we do not speak the language
We do not understand the language
we can not read the writing

This is a land that has captured our heart in ways we can not describe.

So here we are.... 4 country bumpkins living in the beautiful prairies of Canada heading to a far away land to live and love and serve in whatever way God calls us.

The verse we go with is 2 Corinthians 12:9 " But he said to me," My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me"  this is a verse that has been close to my heart for years as life has been challenging but God has made it clear that His grace is sufficient, it is not by my power that he is able to accomplish anything, but by his power alone.    So this year I hold fast to that truth that I will accomplish nothing through my own doing, but I focus my eyes on Him, and take a step onto the water trusting that God will be enough for each day.
